Steamed dumplings stuffed with crab and shrimp and served with sweet chili soy sauce. Grilled lemongrass pork sausage complemented with fresh ginger. Homemade curry puffs packed with veggies and paired with cucumber relish. These are just a few of the unique street foods on the menu at Thai Chef. Inspired by the street festivals of Bangkok, the chef serves up unexpected small plates and entrees at the newly debuted Rockville location.
The menu also includes a section called “Shophouse Selfies,” which contains larger and slightly fancier varieties of street food. The chef highly recommends you sample the wok-fried spiced braised beef dressed in a brown sauce and garlic oil, or the kua gai rice noodles stir-fried with chicken, squid, egg, and a house-made soy sauce. Still hungry? Dig into a plate of tom yum fried rice with spicy roasted chili jam or the classic panang curry with your choice of protein. Wash it all down with one of the popular specialty cocktails, such as the Fishing in Mekhong. It features Thai’s signature spirit, mekhong, with coconut rum and Thai tea.
