Every year, Washington, D.C. and its surrounding communities come together to celebrate the eco-friendly and healthy habit of commuting to work by bike. This year’s Gaithersburg Bike to Work Day will take place in parallel with similar events around the region on Friday, May 20th.
It’s a great opportunity to take your environmentally conscious lifestyle to the next level! Commit to biking to work for that one day, and you might find that you love it so much, that it becomes a daily (or weekly or monthly) habit! Gaithersburg plays host to two pit stops where you can stop for a rest and some fuel as you meet fellow cycling enthusiasts. The morning stop will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the corner of Northbound Great Seneca Highway and Kentlands Boulevard with refreshments and raffle prizes. The afternoon pit stop in Olde Town Plaza is open from 4 to 6 p.m. for some R&R after a solid day of work. Note that this stop will not offer refreshments, so make sure to BYO water.
