Whether you’re looking for a funky statement piece for your apartment or a unique birthday gift for a friend, you’ll find it at Makers Market. Every last Sunday of the month—including June 26th—Plants Alive! in Silver Spring transforms into an open-air marketplace where local artisans come to sell their wares.
From 12 to 4 p.m., the public is invited to interface with these local vendors free of charge. You’re welcome to RSVP online if you like, but there’s really no need. It’s fine to just show up and browse the many booths helmed by the area’s artists. They’re selling everything from vintage clothing and upcycled items to handcrafted jewelry, candles, and bath and body products. Of course, original artwork will also be on display (and available for purchase). With fresh food and live music serving as the backdrop, Makers Market is always a lot of fun, even if you don’t end up leaving with a purchase. Kids and pets are both welcome to accompany you to the market, as well, so feel free to bring the entire family along.
