The Chesapeake Bay brings forth its bounty every summer in the form of shrimp, crab, oysters, and other fresh seafood. The Lobster Bake 2022 will feature shellfish from near and far in a feast that’s bound to impress even the most avid seafood connoisseurs, slated for Sunday, July 31st.
The annual lobster bake will take over Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg with the Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at the helm. They put on the delicious annual fundraiser in order to continue doling out scholarships and public services. Every ticket ($75+) goes toward the cause and entitles its recipient to a menu that includes not only lobster and shrimp, but also kielbasa, barbecue chicken, seafood bisque, and a smattering of homestyle sides. For dessert? A freshly baked slice of pie served a la mode. A live DJ will be spinning beats all afternoon long with lots of lawn games available to keep even the tiniest guests entertained. Dance the afternoon away (in between bites) from 2 to 5:30 p.m. and don’t forget to take part in the 50/50 raffle.
